A Christmas Wish Come True

I always wished for a pony for Christmas. I grew up in little house in suburbia.  There were no farms or horses nearby. We had no room for a pony in our tiny backyard. But still every Christmas I hoped Santa would leave a pony tied to the tree in from of our house. Forever Hopeful! I never gave up hope.

Pickles for Christmas is my Christmas wish come true – for Matthew. I watched the story of Matthew and Pickles unfold every week when I went to watch my granddaughter’s riding lesson. Matthew wished he could have a pony – Pickles to be exact. I had conversations with his mom about how unlikely that was. She didn’t know anything about horses. The prospect of owning a pony seemed overwhelming. Matthew never expected his dream to come true. But if there was ever a kid who deserved a pony it was Matthew. Everyone at the barn was overjoyed when Matthew got that jar of pickles on Christmas morning!

Early reviews are in and I am delighted that readers love the story of Matthew and Pickles as much as I do:

“…a heartwarming holiday tale about a boy, a pony and a Christmas miracle. Marjorie van Heerden captures the magic of dreams coming true with vibrant, colorful illustrations”

“Perfect for young readers and animal lovers, this touching tale is sure to become a holiday favorite.”

“A very sweet and beautifully illustrated book about the love of horses and a sweet Christmas gift.”

“A wonderful read for horse and pony lovers, but also a really sweet and lovely story of friendship, dedication and determination too.”

“…this children’s picture book will prove to be a valuable addition to every child’s personal library.”

“This is one of those stories that makes your heart melt, it’s a beautiful story and it’s a perfect Christmas tale for children. “

May all your dreams come true,
